Product Types & Delivery Methods



The way you consume cannabis can change how it affects you. Some product types and delivery methods are easier for some patients to work with, and others can be more challenging.

Picking the correct product and delivery method allows you to use cannabis in a way that is easy, comfortable, and effective for you.


pulmonary (inhalation)


Flowers, Concentrates

  • Fastest onset time of all delivery methods, usually within 5 minutes
  • Easily control dosing (self-titration)

  • Helpful for patients with nausea who find swallowing difficult

sublingual (under the tongue)


Tinctures, Orally Disintegrating Tablets

  • Fast onset time, usually within 5 to 15 min
  • Medicine absorbs directly into the bloodstream

  • Options for true dose control and self-titration

oral (eaten or swallowed)


Capsules, Lozenges, Effervescent Tablets

  • Longer onset time, usually within 30 min to 2 hours

  • Longer lasting effects, up to 8 hours

  • Options for true dose control and self-titration

Topical (applied to the skin)



  • Fast onset time, usually within 10 minutes
  • No intoxicating affects, even with medicine that has THC
  • Helpful for managing sore muscles, arthritis, and localized inflammation
